Terms of Service

StoryRoot is operated by Fig & Olive LLC, a Tennessee limited liability company ("StoryRoot," "we," "us," or "our"). Our service is accessible at mystoryroot.com and provides AI-generated Book Adventure Packs, personalized book recommendations, and related reading tools for families with children ages 5 to 12.

You must be at least 18 years old to create a StoryRoot account. By creating an account, you represent that you are an adult and, where applicable, that you are a parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you provide to us.

StoryRoot is designed for use by families and is intended to be used by children only under adult supervision. We do not knowingly allow children under 13 to create accounts. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account without parental consent, please contact us at hello@mystoryroot.com and we will promptly delete the account.

When you create an account, you agree to provide accurate and complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion.

StoryRoot is offered on a subscription basis. By starting a free trial or subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Free trial. New accounts receive a 14-day free trial. No payment is required to start a trial. If you do not add a payment method before the trial ends, your subscription will be cancelled automatically.
• Paid plans. After the trial, continued access requires a paid subscription at the rates displayed on our pricing page. Current plans are $12 per month (Family Plan) or $99 per year (Annual Plan).
• Additional child profiles. You may add additional child profiles beyond the three included in the base plan for $3 per month or $25 per year per additional child.
• Billing. Subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis through Stripe. By providing payment information, you authorize us to charge your payment method on each billing cycle.
• Cancellation. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial periods.
• Price changes. We reserve the right to change subscription prices with at least 30 days notice by email. Continued use after the price change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.

You agree to use StoryRoot only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:

• Share your account credentials with others outside your immediate family household
• Use StoryRoot for commercial purposes, including reselling or redistributing our content
• Use StoryRoot on behalf of a school, library, or group of families without an institutional plan
• Attempt to reverse engineer, copy, or reproduce the AI generation logic or content
• Use automated tools to generate packs in bulk or scrape our content
• Upload or input content that is unlawful, harmful, or violates the rights of others
• Interfere with or disrupt the operation of our service

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or misuse the service, including using a family account on behalf of a group or institution.

StoryRoot uses artificial intelligence to generate Book Adventure Packs, book recommendations, and related content. By using our service, you acknowledge that:

• AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors, inaccuracies, or suggestions that are not suitable for your child. You should review all generated content before sharing it with your child.
• Craft projects and science experiments involve physical materials and activities. You are responsible for supervising your child during these activities and for assessing whether they are safe and appropriate for your child's age and abilities.
• Book recommendations are suggestions only. We do not guarantee that any recommended book will be appropriate for your child. Parental discretion is always advised.

The StoryRoot name, logo, website design, and software are owned by Fig & Olive LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not use our name, logo, or branding without prior written permission.

The printable adventure packs generated for your personal use are licensed to you for personal, non-commercial family use only. You may print and use them within your household but may not distribute, sell, or publish them.

Book titles, author names, and other literary references used in generated packs are the property of their respective owners. StoryRoot does not claim any rights over third-party intellectual property.

Your use of StoryRoot is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.

StoryRoot is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any AI-generated content.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fig & Olive LLC disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Fig & Olive LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of StoryRoot shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Fig & Olive LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of StoryRoot shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Tennessee, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

Before initiating any formal legal proceedings, you agree to first contact us at hello@mystoryroot.com and attempt to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice on our website at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of StoryRoot after the effective date of the updated Terms constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
